Signal level HiL testing for electric motors
THE CHALLENGE
Inverter ECUs for electrical automotive powertrain systems require comprehensive testing.
This calls for numerous high-powered HiL testing systems. These do not always require the mapping of electrical loads, such as batteries and electric motor.
THE SOLUTION
For testing the control functions, the inverter’s power output stages are bypassed, and the high-voltage components of battery and electrical machine are simulated (signal level testing).
THE BENEFIT
Thanks to the deployment of HiL systems for signal level testing, many tests can be performed quite economically at a simple laboratory workstation. In this context, the modularity of the models, along with the consistency between signal and power level HiL testing provide clearly structured variant handling and the efficient exchange of tests.
