INCA

The base product INCA comprises the system core with its measurement and calibration functionality and tools for managing the configurations of ECU projects and calibration parameters, for analyzing measured data, and for reprogramming ECU software into flash memory. 

INCA, the de-facto standard in automotive measurement and calibration systems, supports all necessary tasks in the fine-tuning phase of ECU development.

Acquisition of Measurement Signals from the Vehicle and the ECU
INCA is able to:

  • Monitor and record measurement signals of ECUs
  • Monitor, change and record calibration parameters of ECUs Monitor and record analog signals from the vehicle environment
  • Monitor and record digital signals from vehicle bus systems
  • Send messages to the CAN bus In order to acquire analog measurement signals from the vehicle, INCA supports all measurement devices of the compact hardware series ES300, ES400 and ES600, the compact lambda meter and the analog I/O boards of the modular VME ES1000 hardware series.
  • For measuring digital signals from the ECU in correlation with data from the vehicle, INCA integrates the ECU and bus interfaces of the compact ES500 and the modular ES1000 hardware series. 

ECU Interfaces
In combination with the ETAS hardware products, INCA is able to access all common ECU interfaces such as CAN, K-Line, ETK, USB, Ethernet and FlexRay. Several ECUs can be accessed at the same time. 

Interactive User Interfaces and Remote Control Interfaces
Besides interactive optimization of parameters, INCA supports access via remote control interfaces for automation of experiments. For example, test benches access INCA via the ASAM-MCD 3MC remote control interface. In addition, INCA offers remote control interfaces for MATLAB® and for other Windows® applications via the Microsoft® COM-interface.

Long-Term Measurements
To run unattended long term measurement experiments with a given experimental set-up, the PC with INCA can be replaced by an ES715 Drive Recorder.

User Interface for Operation in the Vehicle
For operation in the vehicle, INCA provides full operation via Windows® or with the ES780, a Heads-Up Display with a Thummer as wireless driver interface.

Rapid Prototyping Integration
In rapid prototyping applications, INCA is able to access the ES910 Rapid Prototyping Module as well as the ES1130 and the ES1135 Simulation/System Controller Boards in parallel to ECUs.

LABCAR Integration
In the lab, INCA can also be used as a measurement and calibration server together with a LABCAR test system, e.g. for simulated test drives.

Reuse of Configurations and Experiments
The integrated database allows an easy and quick reuse of existing configurations and experiments with new ECU projects.
