ASCET-DIFF (Model Difference Explorer)

ASCET-DIFF

ASCET-DIFF is an-add on to ASCET-MD and supports the user during the modeling stage of the ECU software process. ASCET models are typically developed by teams of function developers. Intermediate versions or variants are created, simulated, and tested. To explain a changed model behavior during simulation, for example, a user is typically interested in identifying the changes incorporated into the model between two versions.

ASCET-DIFF helps function developers and software engineers to track down model differences quickly and efficiently by comparing models. The comparison algorithm is configurable. The application sorts the comparison result in several views, allowing the user to look at the model differences from several perspectives. The differences are directly highlighted in the model, thus making them easy to comprehend. In the element view, display filters narrow down the comparison results so that changes of interest can be identified quickly. For example, only changed model elements are displayed when the appropriate filter is set. To focus on the model structure only, for instance, the calculation sequence can be ignored during the comparison.
