INTECRIO as Integration Platform
INTECRIO is a rapid prototyping environment for electronic control units (ECUs) supporting the specific needs of electronics and software development in the automotive industry. The possible integration of different Behavior Modeling Tools (BMT) allows you to work with the tool of your choice in each project and in each specialized team.
Open interfaces and the available BMT Connectors for MATLAB®/Simulink® and ASCET enable a smooth integration of different software functions generated with different BMTs. The resulting software prototype can be tested on the ETAS rapid prototyping hardware in bypass and fullpass applications. At the same time, INTECRIO takes all relevant automotive standards like ASAM or OSEK into account, ETAS intends to make future versions of INTECRIO compliant with the upcoming AUTOSAR standard.
The INTECRIO product family approach provides for target-close behavior even for the first prototypes. Investments are protected through the reuse of existing models, C-code, and hardware. INTECRIO supports the ES1000 Hardware Series and the compact ES910 Rapid Prototyping Module, both of which provide all relevant ECU interfaces such as the powerful ETK interface from ETAS.

INTECRIO as Experiment Environment
Based on a future-proof software architecture, INTECRIO enables not only the integration of functions specified at distributed workplaces of the same company but also the verification and validation of application software functions from different development partners, e.g. vehicle manufacturers and suppliers. INTECRIO provides dedicated support for the development of complex software prototypes.
The INTECRIO experiment environment provides an interactive GUI for convenient configuration, measuring, and calibration of the software prototype. With the back-animation feature function developers are able to perform all calibration and measuring tasks directly in their familiar BMT, even on the running rapid prototyping target.
An interface to INCA enables the deployment of the preferred tool of calibration engineers even in the rapid prototyping phase.
Analysis of real-time behavior of a system is a common task in control algorithm development. Therefore, INTECRIO features an interface to RTA-TRACE for real-time OSEK OS monitoring and software tracing.
With all of its integrated functionality, INTECRIO provides one environment for controlling a complete prototype comprising hardware and software.

Virtual Prototyping
The new PC-Connector for INTECRIO enables developers to create virtual prototypes
and test them on the PC without additional hardware. Function developers can use
system models already in early project phases in order to validate new functions using Model-in-the-Loop technologies. A virtual prototype of this kind comprises:

By supporting RTA-VIRTUAL-OSEK, a complete OSEK operating system for the PC, the PC-Connector for
INTECRIO offers conditions that later exist on the vehicle ECU. In short:

With the INTECRIO PC-Connector, users can dynamically influence simulation time by defining a scaling factor. Users can, e.g., quickly find the relevant parts of a simulation and then examine them by switching to the slow motion option.

INTECRIO for Fullpass and Bypass Applications
INTECRIO is the only commercially available product that supports the validation of a control algorithm by parallel implementation of different variants of this control algorithm.

The engineer might want to determine the most efficient code for his software function. He may wish to compare different variants of an algorithm or the module code from one BMT against that of another BMT. INTECRIO is the only tool to enable toggling between alternative solutions during experiment runtime. In this way, available solutions can be verified. Through the scripting capabilities provided with INTECRIO, the verification process can also be automated.
The modular ES1000 Hardware Series and the compact ES910 Rapid Prototyping Module, complete the ETAS rapid prototyping system on the hardware side.
