FlexRay Solutions

FlexRay is a scalable and fault tolerant communication system for high-speed and deterministic data exchange. FlexRay's time-division multiplexing facilitates the design of modular or safety-related distributed systems. Its high bandwidth of up to 10 MBaud helps to cope with the high network load caused by the increasing amount of innovative electronic systems in modern vehicles.

The communication system´s specifications are released by the FlexRay Consortium which is widely supported by vehicle manufacturers and suppliers worldwide.

As a member of the FlexRay Consortium, ETAS supports FlexRay in its development tools:

  • INTECRIO, the software integration platform for function development, provides rapid prototyping of FlexRay ECUs together with the new compact ES910 Rapid Prototyping Module.
  • Closed-loop Hardware-in-the-Loop tests of FlexRay ECUs are possible with a LABCAR-based solution.
  • FlexRay monitoring in INCA enables access to measurement signals on the FlexRay bus via the ES520 interface module.

ETAS supports the development of FlexRay ECUs as components of a FlexRay cluster. The ETAS tools import the FIBEX Field Bus Exchange Format specified by ASAM to align tools and ECUs with the communication scheme given by the FlexRay cluster.
