ASCET-SCM represents the interface to the version and configuration management system (SCM). Based on its flexible architecture ASCET-SCM integrates easily to the applied system and provides versioning operations directly from ASCET. This integration enables comfortable traceability as required e.g., in ISO 9000, CMMI and SPICE.

The modular structure of the software components is transferred into the SCM system directly from ASCET. This enables easy recording of functional dependencies and project states (baselines, branches) and particularly simultaneous development is significantly simplified.
