VME Board for Rapid Prototyping
The ES1600 (A and B versions available) is a flexible VME board for rapid prototyping that can be used in a variety of projects. The project-specific hardware is located on an adapter board (e.g., ES1620 or a custom development) that can be quickly replaced.
A special version, the ES1600.1-B has in addition (compared to the ES1600.1-A) an integrated ETK-P1.1 which is a high-performance calibration interface. This can be used to connect the ES1600 to INCA for parallel calibration. In principle, the ES1600 can be used in two operating modes:
- The board works as a VME slave in standard VME systems. In this operating mode, the user develops code on a simulation node (e.g., ES1130), while the ES1600 performs the function of a specific, intelligent I/O board.
- In a slightly modified form, the ES1600 can also be used as a control unit prototype in stand-alone mode. The board can thus execute control unit functions when separated from a VME system.
