ETAS summertime highlights
Dear Sir or Madam,
Summer is here and ETAS’ summertime activities are ramping up. Right now, members of the ETAS support team are in Granada, Spain, to provide a live testing support for customers. In July, the annual drive and calibration event at the Boxberg Proving Ground takes place, where the student race teams test their vehicles under race-like conditions in preparation for the Formula Student Germany.

More topics in the current issue: Friedhelm Pickhard, ETAS Chairman, spoke about cyber security at the Congress of Automotive Electronics in Ludwigsburg and at the University of Stuttgart. And last but not least: A technical article about the Lightweight Hypervisor solution.

ETAS support back on the road in the Sierra Nevada
ETAS support returns to provide live support. From June 25 to July 13, 2018, ETAS will return to the intense sun of the Sierra Nevada to provide its own testing support for customers. Just as last year, the support team will set up an ETAS pit stop, easily recognizable thanks to the ETAS flags midway through the Sierra Nevada testing course.

Friedhelm Pickhard gives presentation on security orchestration
ETAS was a primary sponsor of the 22nd International Congress of Automotive Electronics in Ludwigsburg on June 19 and 20, 2018. Its subsidiary ESCRYPT represented ETAS at an accompanying trade-fair booth, and Friedhelm Pickhard, Chairman of the Board of Management of ETAS GmbH, gave a presentation.

Clear separation necessary
Where control unit software is concerned, the automotive industry increasingly relies on agile software development. With agile software development, software-controlled vehicle functions are kept current via continual updates and upgrades. For these updates to be installed without safety risks, the individual functions must be kept absolutely separate. The Lightweight Hypervisor from ETAS is the answer.

“Cyber Security affects us all”
Friedhelm Pickhard, Chairman of the Board of Management of ETAS GmbH, recently gave a talk on cyber security at the University of Stuttgart. His speech was part of a lecture series entitled “Automotive Technology Leaders Present.” In his speech, Pickhard spoke about the relevance of cyber security and its impact on businesses in particular.

Formula Student Germany 2018 – preparations are in full swing
Good preparation is half the battle won, or in the case of Formula Student, it may be what puts a team ahead later on the track. This is why ETAS teamed up with various Bosch business units to give some of the sponsored teams the opportunity to put the finishing touches to their vehicles at the Boxberg test site.
