The ETAS FlexECU is an open, cost-effective ECU development platform for the on-target system development of new control concepts. It is based on a production version of the current diesel and gasoline engine control hardware from Bosch. With the easy-to-use EHOOKS environment, the integration of prototype software from ASCET, Simulink®, and other model-based development tools as well as hand-coded C-code is simplified and accelerated considerably.

In addition, the basic software with an open API is included as well as simple and complex I/O drivers and an OSEL-compliant real-time operating system. The FlexECU has an optional high-speed ECU interface (ETK) for measuring, calibration, and ECU programming. The FlexECU is therefore predestined for use with INCA, the industry-leading application tool from ETAS. The FlexECU is suitable for the direct control of diesel or gasoline engines with up to eight cylinders. In addition, the FlexECU has I/Os capable of controlling a variety of applications, including hybrid control, transmission control, and other vehicle subsystems.

Benefit

Together with other tools in the ETAS tool chain, such as ASCET, EHOOKS, INCA, and LABCAR, universities can run engines on the test bench, giving students the opportunity to acquire a basic understanding of todays`s engine management.
