On October 25, 2012, ETAS and the School of Energy & Power Engineering at WHUT (Wuhan University of Technology) signed a cooperation agreement with the purpose to establish a Joint Marine Power Control Engineering Laboratory. The declared objective of the cooperation is to increase the R&D capability of the marine industry, expand the applications of advanced development tools in marine engineering, while focusing on the exploration and promotion of the techniques related to embedded software development in marine industry and, in particular, the studies of the high-pressure common rails for use in the medium-speed diesel engines.

ETAS and WHUT established a Joint Laboratory

On October 25, 2012, ETAS and the School of Energy & Power Engineering at WHUT (Wuhan University of Technology) signed a cooperation agreement with the purpose to establish a Joint Marine Power Control Engineering Laboratory. The declared objective of the cooperation is to increase the R&D capability of the marine industry, expand the applications of advanced development tools in marine engineering, while focusing on the exploration and promotion of the techniques related to embedded software development in marine industry and, in particular, the studies of the high-pressure common rails for use in the medium-speed diesel engines. Meanwhile, the cooperation also aims at fostering those students pursuing a Master’s Degree or a PhD, who are expected to handle the state-of-the-art development tools and development processes (from function development and verification, architecture design, code generation and testing to calibration) and support customer seminars and trainings.

As one of the national key universities reporting directly to the Ministry of Education, Wuhan University of Technology is a renowned institution of higher education that claims to have remarkable influence on the following key industries: construction materials and construction engineering, transportation, and automotive. The School of Energy & Power Engineering at WHUT is a characteristic college set up with two national key subjects, i.e., “Ship and Marine Engineering” and “Marine Engine Engineering”. The College also runs a key transportation lab for ship power engineering technology. Thanks to the continuous development over the past six decades, the College has been recognized as one of the key institutions for talent fostering and scientific research in the fields of ship power and transportation in China. The establishment of the Joint Laboratory will support the research and promotion of the advanced technologies in the R&D sector of ship power control systems and facilitate the relevant teaching programs, too.
