ETAS Participates in Modelica Conference 2014

ETAS will participate in the 10th International Modelica Conference 2014 which takes place in Lund, Sweden, from March 10 - 12, 2014.

This conference serves as a main event for sharing knowledge and discussing the latest progress concerning the Functional Mockup Interface (FMI). This tool-independent standard is developed under the roof of the Modelica association and supports both model exchange and co-simulation of dynamic models. The overall target of this standard is to improve the exchange of simulation models between suppliers and OEMs. The latest standard version 1.0 is currently refined and the version 2.0 Release Candidate 1 has been available since October 2013.

With tools like ASCET, INTECRIO, ISOLAR-EVE, and LABCAR, ETAS has proven its competence and expertise in (model-based) software development and validation throughout the whole development cycle (Model-, Software-, and Hardware-in-the Loop−MiL, SiL, and HiL).

As an active member in the FMI Advisory Committee, ETAS now additionally drives the continuous development of the FMI standard to further strengthen open tool landscapes.

Therefore, the upcoming Modelica conference also serves as ideal venue for ETAS to introduce its new FMI-based integration and simulation platform. In addition to the above mentioned tools, ETAS now offers a holistic solution for embedded system validation and verification based on the FMI standard. Artifacts on the control side, i.e., models as well as virtual ECUs, can be integrated with components from the plant side, therefore allowing an early virtual system validation. All artifacts are integrated as FMI-compliant components (so-called Functional Mock-Up Units, FMUs), thus providing an open system (co-) simulation solution, independent from the native modeling languages used. Furthermore, ETAS will demonstrate FMU generators for ASCET, Simulink®, and ISOLAR-EVE.

We look forward to meeting you at the Modelica conference!
