DESK-LABCAR − Test ECUs from the comfort of your own desk

DESK-LABCAR is a compact version of ETAS’ proven and reliable LABCAR system. The newly designed housing now includes an integrated breakout box, and various software packages enable the system to handle anything from cost-effective open-loop testing to demanding real-time simulation applications.

In addition to offering impressive technical features, DESK-LABCAR recently received an honorable mention from the famous Red Dot Award for product design in the “Measuring and testing technology” category.

DESK-LABCAR is available in four different product bundles. Each bundle combines the new ES5100 housing, an ES5340 multi-I/O interface card, and either an entry or full version of the real-time operating system (RTPC) and the operating software (LCO).

  • The ES5100 contains state-of-the-art PC hardware (Intel Core i7-4770S with 3.1 GHz, 8 GB DDR3-SDRAM) and integrates a 60-pin breakout box that allows for a custom wiring harness on the rear of the housing.
  • The ES5340 offers input channels (4 analog, 20 digital) and output channels (8 analog, 8 digital) and is prepared for FPGA-based model simulation.
  • The entry version of the real-time operating system allows execution of simulation models with cycle times of up to 200 ms. The full version comes with full simulation speed.
  • The entry version of the operation software consists of the LABCAR-OPERATOR Experiment Environment (EE) and is restricted to the execution of available workspaces (default workspace is part of the bundle). The full version has all of that plus the LABCAR-OPERATOR Integration Platform (IP) to create or change workspaces, e.g., to integrate in-house plant models or restbus simulations.

All bundles can be flexibly combined with many other ETAS hardware and software products (e.g., further I/O or bus interface cards).
