Automotive Electronik Kongress 2026:

ETAS Showcases Open Software Platform for the Software-Defined Vehicle in Ludwigsburg

Stuttgart/Ludwigsburg, June 2, 2026 – ETAS GmbH, a specialist in solutions for the development of software-defined vehicles (SDV), is setting impulses for the future of automotive software architecture at the 30th Automotive Electronics Congress, 16-17 June in Ludwigsburg. On site, the Bosch subsidiary will demonstrate how open standards and collaborative ecosystems can help increase development speed in the automotive industry.

With the Vehicle Platform Suite enabled by Eclipse S-CORE, ETAS shows how modern vehicle software can be developed on the basis of an open and scalable platform approach. The demo illustrates how open-source technologies can help accelerate development processes, reduce complexity, and strengthen collaboration across company boundaries.

As part of the congress, Dr. Thomas Irawan, CEO of ETAS, and Chris Salzmann, VP Global SW-Strategy, -Platform and -Factory, BMW Group, will give the presentation “Eclipse S-CORE – Speed, efficiency, community in open source: Time to deliver.” The presentation focuses on the potential of Eclipse S-CORE for industrial software development in the automotive sector. In particular, it addresses how open source can combine greater speed, higher efficiency, and a strong community to bring software to production maturity faster.

The presentation also shows how jointly developed software building blocks and open ecosystems can support the implementation of the software-defined vehicle. At the same time, it highlights the contribution open platforms can make to reusability, development efficiency, and shorter development cycles.
