ETAS GmbH Board of Management to be reconstituted with Christoph Hartung as the newly designated chairman

Stuttgart – Christoph Hartung (47) will take over as chairman of the Board of Management of ETAS GmbH on January 1, 2021. Hartung has been with Bosch since January 2020 and is currently Executive Vice President of the Connected Mobility Solutions division. He holds an academic degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science and a Master of Science in Computer and Information Science from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. He started his career with various automakers, including Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz. “Christoph Hartung has extensive expertise in automotive software and electronics development. ETAS is gaining an experienced manager who will continue driving the digitalization of vehicles for our customers,” says Dr. Markus Heyn, member of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH. Heyn is responsible for the 100-percent Bosch subsidiary.

Christoph Hartung will succeed Friedhelm Pickhard (61), who will leave the company at his own request on December 31, 2020. Pickhard started his career at the Bosch Group over 30 years ago, joining in 1989 as group leader at Teldix GmbH’s department for system engineering. He has been chairman of the Board of Management of ETAS GmbH since 2010, with the responsibility for corporate strategy, research and development, product marketing, communication, and the subsidiary ESCRYPT. “Friedhelm Pickhard has put ETAS GmbH on an excellent footing with his great personal commitment and entrepreneurial foresight, and has contributed significantly to the company’s successful development,” says Heyn.

Bernd Hergert (59) will also leave the Board of Management of ETAS GmbH on December 31, 2020, to retire. He has been a member of the Board of Management of ETAS since 2014 and, as Executive Vice President Operations, been responsible for purchasing and logistics, finance and tax, planning and controlling, human resources, information systems and services, and quality management and processes. Götz Nigge (50) will succeed Bernd Hergert as of January 1, 2021. Nigge holds an academic degree in Business Administration and is currently Commercial Director in the Connected Mobility Solutions division at Robert Bosch GmbH. Hans-Günter Gromeier (51) is the third new member to join the Board of Management of ETAS. He is currently Head of Marketing, Corporate Strategy, and Portfolio Management at the Bosch subsidiary. Having earned an academic degree in Engineering, he began his career at ETAS 25 years ago as an application engineer. He also holds a master’s degree in International Business. He will take over the responsibility for sales and customer support at ETAS from Christopher White (60), who has been a member of the ETAS Board of Management since 2013. White will assume a new role as of January 1, 2021. “We want to thank Friedhelm Pickhard, Bernd Hergert, and Christopher White for their many years of dedication and valuable service to ETAS,” says Heyn.
