ETAS at IAA Mobility 2025

Solutions for AI-driven and open automotive software development

IAA event view

Stuttgart, August 11, 2025 – At IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich from September 9 to 14, ETAS will present pioneering technologies under the motto “Let’s shape the future of mobility. Together.” Both at its booth and on stage at the IAA Conference, ETAS will showcase solutions that accelerate the transition to software-defined vehicles and provide comprehensive support to automotive manufacturers and suppliers in developing future-proof vehicle architectures.

ETAS Vehicle Software Platform Suite: Enabling the software-defined vehicle era
Modern vehicles are rapidly transforming into complex, software-driven systems. As traditional distributed E/E architectures reach their limits, the industry is shifting to zonal architectures with powerful zone controllers and high-speed Ethernet connectivity. This new approach reduces wiring complexity, hardware cost, centralizes data processing, and enables seamless over-the-air updates, and rapid feature deployment. By decoupling hardware from software, true application portability becomes possible—future-proofing vehicles for ongoing innovation.

The ETAS Vehicle Software Platform Suite is purpose-built to harness this transformation. It offers comprehensive runtime components, development tools, and a starter kit designed to enhance development efficiency and ensure optimal application performance. With stable APIs that abstract application functionality from the underlying software, hardware, and operating system details, the suite enables standardized access to all relevant in-vehicle signals and supports application portability across car lines.

“Our solution supports the full spectrum of modern automotive architectures and application domain requirements—from deeply embedded microcontroller-based systems to high-performance compute platforms, from ADAS/AD to Motion. It incorporates established automotive standards such as AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive, while extending beyond them to e.g. address specific ADAS/AD needs or to leverage open-source software to meet our customers' demands for flexibility and development speed”, explains Dr. Tobias Kreuzinger, Chief Product Manager Compute Middleware at ETAS. “The runtime stack is fully compliant with key safety and security standards, including ISO 26262 up to ASIL-D, ISO 21434, and UN-R155. With this our platform is uniquely positioned to provide a future-ready foundation that blends proven standards with innovative enhancements—ensuring safety, scalability, and adaptability across the rapidly evolving automotive landscape."

Driving efficiency: Advanced measurement and calibration technology for software-defined vehicles
At IAA Mobility ETAS also introduces a fast and cost-efficient solution for vehicle function validation optimization with its comprehensive measurement system designed specifically for µP-based vehicle computers. This innovative end-to-end solution enables the direct capture of internal data via platform software, ensuring high-speed access, real-time processing, multi-sensor synchronization, and consistent data quality. By supporting all leading microprocessor and platform software vendors, ETAS offers automotive manufacturers and developers unparalleled flexibility in their validation processes.

“With this advanced measurement and calibration technology, the vehicle behavior can be easily optimized by online or offline parameter modification. It's perfectly integrated in INCA, the leading tool suite for calibrating, diagnosing and validating automotive electronic systems. development and validation cycles are significantly accelerated through the reuse of pre-recorded data, while testing costs are reduced by enabling the acquisition of all relevant information in a single test run”, said Mike Wolters, Solution Manager at ETAS.

Development and validation cycles are significantly accelerated through the reuse of pre-recorded data, while testing costs are reduced by enabling the acquisition of all relevant information in a single test run. The solution is fully scalable across diverse E/E architectures and application domains—including Motion, ADAS, and Body, Infotainment, —empowering customers to adapt seamlessly to evolving requirements. Furthermore, by avoiding vendor lock-in, ETAS ensures maximum flexibility for its partners.

Event highlights at IAA Mobility 2025
ETAS will be present at this year’s IAA Conference 2025 in Munich, offering visitors the opportunity to engage with industry experts and gain insights into current trends in software-defined vehicles (SDVs) and AI-driven software development.

Two key events are planned for attendees:

Keynote:
“AI-Driven Software-Defined Vehicles: Success Strategies”

with Fedra Ribeiro (Executive Vice President, ADAS & Compute, Bosch) and Mariella Minutolo (Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing, ETAS)

Main Stage | September 10th | 12:45 – 1:00 PM

The keynote will provide insights into how AI is reshaping advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), moving from reactive safety mechanisms to proactive, intelligent copilots. It will also highlight the role of AI in accelerating the development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs), with a focus on how advanced tools and workflows driven by AI can improve cost-efficiency, safety, and the overall user experience.

Presentations and panel discussion:
“Safe, fast, innovative: Why the Future of Vehicle Software Is Open“”

Saal 13B | September 11th | 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Experts from the automotive industry are sharing insights into a new collaborative software development initiative designed to accelerate product cycles, boost safety, and enhance the digital customer experience. Supported by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), leading manufacturers, suppliers, and software companies have joined forces for pre-competitive collaboration based on open-source principles. Dr. Thomas Irawan, CEO of ETAS, will present the perspective of software tier suppliers within this automotive open source ecosystem.
