ETAS and Lynx Software Technologies – Separate yet together

This is precisely why ETAS has added the LynxSecure Separation Kernel Hypervisor from Lynx Software Technologies (USA) to its automotive software stack. This technology significantly enhances ECU and vehicle computer security, providing safe system separation for the next generation of domain controllers and vehicle computer ECUs. This allows for hardware to be partitioned and isolated into different virtual machines so that software applications can co-exist while providing freedom from interference. Only with this technology can a clear and reliable separation be realized. The advantage: Software from different vendors and with different safety levels can be integrated on one ECU. If one element changes, only this element has to be tested again and not the whole ECU software.

ETAS is supporting LynxSecure with a version of its RTA-BSW AUTOSAR solution, RTA-VRTE AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform and an ESCRYPT embedded security solution to run within LynxSecure’s lightweight isolated virtual machine containers. This combination forms a complete software platform, supplied by ETAS, designed to address real-time automotive use cases that call for the highest levels of safety and security.
