ETAS certified to ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity standard

ETAS is now accredited with the world’s first ISO standard dedicated to road vehicles cybersecurity the “ISO/SAE 21434:2021 Road vehicles — Cybersecurity engineering”. From 2022, the UNECE regulation no. 155 (UN R155) obliges OEMs to operate a certified cybersecurity management system (CSMS) and demonstrate an appropriate level of IT security for their vehicle architectures as a prerequisite for type approval. ISO/SAE 21434 sets the binding framework for the implementation of these guidelines.

Accordingly as an automotive supplier with specialty in automotive security, ETAS reacted fast and established a Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) compliant with the ISO/SAE 21434. ETAS is one of the industry’s front runners to be certified with the ISO/SAE 21434:2021 after passing an external process audit by TÜV Süd.
