The challenge
Operating in a highly dynamic and competitive environment, the customer faced the challenge of developing a robust and innovative corner radar product within just 10 months—significantly shorter than the industry’s typical two-year development cycle. The complexity of the project required seamless cooperation and clear communication among multiple stakeholders, making alignment and timely execution critical for success.
The solution
ETAS supported Bosch by providing a tailored RTA-CAR solution, which played a key role in accelerating the project. RTA-CAR offers a flexible, scalable, and production-proven software platform that enabled rapid integration and reliable performance for the new corner radar system.A significant advantage was the presence of ETAS experts on-site, ensuring direct support and immediate problem-solving throughout the development process. This close collaboration allowed commercial processes to proceed in parallel with the technical development. To maintain transparency and alignment, ETAS established proactive communication channels with all partners, sharing weekly updates on progress. This approach fostered strong teamwork, enabled swift decision-making, and ensured effective problem-solving at every stage of the project.
Customer achievements
The OS porting process was completed in just 4 weeks instead of the typical 2-3 months. Following the project kickoff, the compile environment was operational within only 5 working days. Within an impressive 10 working days, the RTA-CAR project integration with verified COM-CAN functionality was completed, and the final memory and diagnostic stack verification within the subsequent 10 days. This successful and fast integration of critical modules, including AUTOSAR RTA-CAR OS, MCAL, and CAN/Diag/NM, demonstrated the effectiveness of our collaborative approach. Despite the complexity requiring extensive multi-stakeholder coordination, the team maintained both cost-competitiveness and technical excellence, enabling Bosch to meet their ambitious market objectives on schedule.
“The partnership with ETAS was instrumental in achieving our aggressive timeline and ensuring the success of our corner radar project. This project not only exemplifies the power of collaboration but also highlights ETAS's commitment to delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry.”
