ETAS Showcases Solutions for Cross-Domain Measurement, Calibration, and Diagnostics at Automotive Testing Expo 2026
Stuttgart, May 15, 2026 – Automotive development is becoming increasingly cross-domain, software-driven, and highly connected. At Automotive Testing Expo, taking place from June 23 to 25, 2026, at Messe Stuttgart, ETAS will present its portfolio for modern measurement, calibration, analysis, and diagnostic applications. A key highlight at Hall 1, Booth 1350 will be the launch of the new Modular ECU Access Device (M-ETK). In addition, ETAS will provide insights into solutions for centralized E/E architectures and software-defined vehicles.
As the industry moves toward the software-defined vehicle, previously separate vehicle domains are increasingly converging. Functions relating to the powertrain, brakes, steering, and chassis are now being developed in centralized control units and on shared software platforms. As a result, requirements for development tools, data integration, and seamless end-to-end processes are also increasing. ETAS is addressing this transformation with an expanded portfolio that goes beyond traditional powertrain applications to cover all key Motion Domains, creating a unified development environment for cross-domain measurement and calibration tasks.
“The development of the powertrain, brakes, steering, and chassis is becoming increasingly integrated in modern vehicle architectures. As a result, the need for solutions that enable cross-domain measurement, calibration, and analysis within consistent workflows is growing. At Automotive Testing Expo, we will demonstrate how these requirements can be implemented in specific application scenarios using our portfolio,” says Gerit von Schwertführer, VP Portfolio Management Integrated Calibration and Application Solutions at ETAS.
M-ETK: Modular Access to ECU Data
A central highlight of ETAS’s presence at the show is the launch of the new M-ETK. This modular high-performance interface enables access to internal ECU data that is not available via conventional communication and diagnostic interfaces and is specifically designed for modern ECU and E/E architectures. With data rates of up to 80 MByte/s and more, interchangeable adapter boards, and seamless integration into INCA, the Hardware Service Pack (HSP), and a web-based user interface, ETAS is laying the foundation for powerful and flexible calibration workflows. Support for GBit Automotive Ethernet (1000Base-T1) further underscores ETAS’s commitment to providing customers with future-proof access to measurement and calibration data across multiple vehicle domains.
End-to-End Toolchain for All Motion Domains
ETAS will also demonstrate how measurement and calibration can be implemented across all key Motion Domains within a shared toolchain. The focus is on applications for electrified powertrains, brake systems, steering, and chassis, as well as use in centralized architectures with microprocessor-based Vehicle Control Units, battery management systems, and Motion ECUs. The interaction of INCA, MC Gateway, ETK, ES570.1, ES160, and EHANDBOOK creates a seamless development environment for cross-domain tasks. A realistic driver-input simulation vividly demonstrates the smooth integration of these components within a common application scenario.
ES570 and ES166 for Modern Vehicle Networks
For the analysis and validation of modern vehicle networks, ETAS is spotlighting the combination of ES570 and ES166. It enables non-invasive real-time tapping of Gigabit Automotive Ethernet data streams, for example for the analysis of camera data, while also supporting measurement and calibration tasks for new network technologies such as 10Base-T1S. An integrated safety relay in the ES570 ensures that communication between control units is maintained even when the measurement device is switched off.
High-Performance Toolchain for Data-Intensive Validation
For data-intensive validation tasks, ETAS is presenting a high-performance measurement and analysis toolchain that enables large volumes of data from cameras and control units to be captured synchronously and visualized in real time. The precise time synchronization of different data sources provides the foundation for in-depth analyses of complex vehicle functions. At the same time, this approach helps minimize the impact of measurement technology on the target system.
SOVD for Diagnostics and Service in the Software-Defined Vehicle
With its SOVD solution, ETAS is addressing the next generation of vehicle diagnostics. It demonstrates how Remote Vehicle Health and Repair can be realized through continuous connectivity, intelligent diagnostics, AI-supported workshop assistance, and robust cybersecurity. The aim is to detect vehicle conditions at an early stage, identify faults more quickly, reduce downtime, and enable new digital service offerings throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.
High-Performance Data Logging Together with VIGEM
In addition, ETAS, together with VIGEM, is presenting an integrated solution for seamless high-performance data logging. It captures internal ECU data with high data rates, vehicle bus information, and external sensor data such as video streams synchronously and with precise time correlation. This enables anomalies to be identified more quickly and root causes to be analyzed far more efficiently. ETAS tools such as INCA, MDA, and DataOperator are then used for subsequent evaluation.
Panel on Multi-Domain Integration in SDVs
Another program highlight is a joint panel hosted by ETAS and Bosch on June 24, 2026, on the stage in Hall 1. Under the title “Driving innovation: mastering multi-domain integration in SDVs”, experts will discuss the technological, organizational, and infrastructural requirements of new E/E architectures, as well as specific application examples for cross-domain calibration and real-time data processing.
