Capture What Sensors Miss with Integrated Video Recording

Many validation and calibration tasks rely on visual information that cannot be captured by traditional vehicle sensors alone. Whether monitoring battery temperatures with infrared cameras, detecting ice formation, observing driver displays, or validating wheel behavior, engineers need to correlate video recordings with ECU and vehicle data. When these data streams are recorded separately, analysis becomes more complex and valuable context can be lost.

Key challenges

Disconnected data sources

Video and measurement data are often stored separately, making correlation difficult.

Missing system context

Sensor data alone may not explain observed vehicle behavior.

Time-consuming investigations

Engineers must manually align recordings with ECU and bus signals.

Limited test documentation

Visual evidence is difficult to compare consistently across test runs.

The INCA Video Camera Addon extends INCA with synchronized video acquisition, enabling engineers to record visual information alongside ECU signals and bus communication in a single measurement workflow. Instead of managing separate recording systems, video and measurement data are time-aligned from the start, creating a complete view of vehicle behavior and system performance. The solution supports both network and USB cameras. Engineers can capture data from up to six camera sources simultaneously and evaluate the recordings together with measurement data in INCA and MDA. This allows visual observations to be directly linked to ECU behavior, simplifying root-cause analysis, test validation, and result comparison across development teams.

Your benefits

Analyze video, ECU, and bus data within one synchronized workflow.

Gain valuable insights in situations where dedicated sensor data is limited or unavailable.

Accelerate root-cause analysis by directly correlating visual events with measurement signals.

Improve test documentation and comparison with synchronized visual evidence.
